The victory of the American Revolutionary War was greatly enhanced by such great men as the Marquis de Lafayette and others such as the Polish patriot, Kosciusko, who joined in the battle for freedom. Lafayette wrote, concerning the Revolution of 1776, "I gave my heart to the Americans and thought of nothing else but raising my banner and adding my colors to theirs."
