LESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalm 1:1)
According to the preacher of Ecclesiastes, The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Nothing has truly changed since the days before the flood and And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5) But the wicked inclinations of man are tempered by just laws duly enforced. When those laws become the tools of despots, certainly the blinders fall away from justice and havoc is the result. Usually, such havoc is attended by persecution of the righteous, famine, general warfare outside the borders of a nation, licentiousness, and debilitating diseases of mind and body.
Perversions of the vilest forms are, today, being foisted upon the innocent minds of our youth from early childhood. We may take the first lines of Psalm 1 as a perfect warning for our day. Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! The warning from Isaiah ads solemnity to the warning of David in the Psalm. We are at a critical point in the history of the world. The wickedness is no longer a national matter, but rather a general, global development. It is beyond the limited mind of man to generate such unity of evil at once across the global horizon, not because man’s mind is incapable of devising such evil, but it lacks the intellectual capacity of an evil personage in the character of Satan. He has simply fed the wicked ambitions of evil men with the blueprints of execution.
We may take the dual warning of Psalm 1 and Isaiah 5 as a particular warning for our age. Many of tender age are lured away from truth and love by the false light of the dismal swamp. The primary tool for such indoctrination is an education system that usurps parental rights in favor of indoctrination of profound immorality and hate. Divisions are encouraged thereby for every group to hate every other. Following that false glimmer generated by sewer gases of rotting matter, our upcoming generations end up lost in the smothering darkness of unnatural affections and a failure of compassion.
This deplorable circumstance has arisen from the silence of churches and their following who failed to take a stand while the fires of subjugation to evil depravity were merely a spark on the timbers of Liberty. Now, those sparks have risen to an all-engulfing fire storm of hate and perversion.
The judgment of God waited during the days before Noah until the iniquity of the people was completely indefensible. The modern-day scene can scarcely be much more deserving of judgment, and perhaps more so, than those days before the flood. Our Lord gave us a solemn warning concerning the rampant sins of our day: 26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
This morning as I sat at my desk, I suddenly was filled with a profound remorse for my country, my friends, my children, my grandchildren, and my fellow citizens as I considered our present state of rampant worldwide evil – an evil that has begun to predominate as a government and corporation-sponsored immorality and darkness even in our beloved country who, in times past, has been so richly blessed by God. We began years ago to cast the Author of our Liberty without the gate and have embraced that immorality of a man-centered religion. Call it what you may – humanism, diversity-equity- inclusion, and false science of medicine and environmental chaos caused by men and animals.
The insidious prevailing philosophies of subjugation and population control may have reached the tipping point of God’s judgment. It may be unstoppable; however, as Christians, we are commanded to stand fast, hold the line, and suffer whatever persecution may ensue. Take the counsel of our Lord and not that of the ungodly: It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! (Luke 17:1)
