Bach is the greatest of the Baroque composers. He began the musical score with the words, 'To the Glory of God.' 

Bach believed that music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul. He also stated that the final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the spirit.
