AOC Sunday Report – Second Sunday in Lent

Happy Second Sunday in Lent!

The AOC Sunday Report can be downloaded RIGHT HERE!

Today we have excellent sermons from Bishops Jerry and Roy, as well as Revs Jack and Bryan.  Each is quite different and quite good.  I hope you will taken the time to read them.  Rev Jack brings the Propers together today.    His sermon is can be viewed on video here -> https://youtu.be/9vdNyOpx8

Today’s Collect acknowledges our inability to set our own course in life that would follow God’s Plan for us and our need for His Guidance for both our physical and spiritual needs.  Paul writes to the people of Thessaloniki telling them to follow the guidance de he left them on both their spiritual and physical actions. In the Gospel Matthew relates the story of Jesus’ encounter with the woman of Canaan who needed His help for her daughter and the famous quote, “Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” There is much more to this story than meets the eye.  Great stuff and it all comes together, listen or read to understand how.

There are always a lot of people who need your prayer, please take the time to pray for them.  Start with the Flanagan family, Shamu, Tricia and Laurie.... work out from there.  Most particularly pray for  Rev Asif Pervaiz Gill, who was ordained as a minister by the Bishop Ernest Jacob of Pakistan on 1 March 2023.    It takes great courage and commitment to be an identified representative of Jesus Christ in Pakistan.  Think about that.

There is a really epic week ahead, I hope that you will be able to find it. If you have any questions, you might think about asking God for a bit of help. He keeps Holy Ghost on tap to get us through the hard times, real or imagined.

Have an outstanding week!

Godspeed,

Hap
