Presiding Bishop's Letter of Remembrance of a National Tragedy
Because
thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I
rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
But those that seek my soul, to
destroy it, shall go into the
lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion
for foxes. But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by
him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. (Psalms 63:7-11)
Fourteen years ago, the American nation
was brutally and viciously attacked by Islamic terrorists whose cowardly nature
is to avoid combat against an armed foe, but rather prefers to target unarmed
women and children in the name of a false god called Allah. This god is defined
by the character of his adherents who serve under a better title of demons to a
satanic religion.
Our national leadership today is even
sympathetic to this religion of ruin and death. It is time for America to turn
her face back to the True God who has presided over our national character and
well-being for more than two hundred years - the God of Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob; and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Without repentance and
humility, we shall suffer the fate of the long-forgotten nations of the dustbin
of history.
Let us resolve to fight against every
wicked and evil religion that justifies the beheading of babies, men, and women
simply as a perverse and sensuous satisfaction. If I were the devil, could I
choose any other religion more adaptable to my plan of destruction of the works
of Almighty God?
Let us pray the imprecatory prayer of
David the King that God will bring a deserved and eternal ruin to this religion
and its cowardly adherents, and turn our hearts again to the God of Love and
Justice. Let us pray:
Dear Lord and Father of Lights - Father of our Lord Jesus Christ - of
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - please turn your face again to the heaven-blessed
land that once sought your guidance and counsel in all matter of life and
government. Cause our hearts to dawn with the Light of Love and Truth that only
comes from you. Bless those families who lost innocent loved ones in the
bombing of the World Trade Center, and those good Christian people who are
suffering atrocities today at the hands of the adherents of Islam. Turn our
hearts and minds back to that Divine Benefactor of our Founding - the Lord
Jesus Christ, for it is in His Name that we ask these things. Amen
In Christ,
