THE BOOK OF MAN
The life of any man or woman could be compared to the volume of a book - perhaps a whole volume is needed, or even only a single chapter, to cover the expanse of one’s life.
We might include one’s birth as the title page; his baptism as the preface; his youth as the table of contents; his life as the full volume; and his sins and errors as the list of corrections by the
editor - our Maker.
Some lives may be comparable to the voluminous tome of Tolstoi entitled, War & Peace. Others may have only a single volume, or perhaps even a single short story, to describe their time on earth. The binding may differ as well from fine, leather-binding to paperback. The durability of the binding is only representative of the book-binder's art and not the quality of the narrative contained therein.
Some may contain a high degree of intellectual and artful qualities while others may be filled with profanities and absent of any hint of inspiration. But the book of a man’s life must run from title to ending. At the very last must be entered the word, THE END. The most important part of your story is the DASH between your birth year and your final act. This has been the story from olden days until the present. As the Bible describes the ending, “and he slept with his fathers.’ The question that demands an answer is this: Who is the father with whom you shall sleep - your father the devil, or your Father in Heaven?
